I find SD 99.9% perfect for me and just gets better, but would like to suggest 1 small improvement -

When flying a route it is often necessary to 'go to' a route waypoint.
This has the effect go cancelling the original route, but surely it when arriving at this waypoint it would be better for SD to automatically resume the route.
Also, it would be nice to have a 'direct to' button on the main (map) screen in the go flying mode.

The behaviour you describe should already be implemented. It's common for taking shortcuts to a waypoint further ahead in your route, and the route after that waypoint should be preserved. Perhaps you could spell out the steps you're taking in detail, along with the precise route?

The short cut to Direct To is to press and hold on the SkyDemon orb.

Sorry Tim, I didn't realise the matter had been resolved. I am now 100% satisfied with SD.

Maybe it's supposed to work like that, but if you Direct to a waypoint after pressing on the Skydemon icon, you will lose the rest of the route on my ipad....this happened to me and I learned another lesson and that is to save the route, not just to the cloud, but also locally because of course I couldn't resurrect the original flight plan without a 3G signal.... However, again by my own trial and error, I found that holding my finger on the new waypoint and then pressing Insert into flightplan does the trick...but be careful not to select direct or again the flightplan will be wiped....I aLso found that it is not possible to remove a waypoint once you Go Flying...and if you stop navigating and try to edit the route the Edit Route option will only appear if ther is a navaid or IFR waypoint in the original plan...but you can drag the route using your finger....you then have to Go Flying again....now you will have the amended route...(but your logging will start again from a midpoint in space!)

Direct To > Turning Points, and pick from the list, and you will achieve the result you're looking for.

If you do Direct To and leave it set to Nearby Airfields, it will indeed delete your route.

Thanks Steve...yes, that's all very well if you want to skip ahead to a waypoint which is already in your flight plan.....but not to add in a new waypoint somewhere down the route....that requires my method as described....what I can't seem to do easily is remove a waypoint from the route without leaving the Go Flying mode....it would be nice to be able to touch and hold a given waypoint and be given an option to remove it from the flight plan...

Awqward,

just press and hold on the waypoint on the moving map you want to delete. The upcoming menu gives you the opportunity to 'Remove waypoint'. All done while flying without leaving the 'Go flying' mode.

If you want to insert a waypoint while flying, tap and hold any point on the map. The upcoming 'What's here' menu lets you choose the waypoint itself. Choose either 'Append to route' or 'Insert into route' to your like and presto, you're done!

Ahhhh....thanks Eric...now I see it!...I was looking down the same list as Append and Insert etc....not realizing it is actually in the header of the box....as my wife knows, I can't see it if it's right in front of me!

Cheers

Btw, is it just me or is this forum software particularly difficult to use on an ipad?

Would it be possible to have a preview of the direct to waypoint as you have it in every FMS as well? So that I select a direct to waypoint on my route and at that moment the map zooms out to preview the direct (whether I like it or not) and if I do, I accept it and only then it becomes "live"?
